Sunday 28th April was 2019 World Day for Safety and Health at Work and Workers’ Memorial Day. The day provided a chance to honour those who have lost their lives due to incidents in the workplace and an opportunity to place a focus on safety in the workplace.
Wiley are committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for our people, clients, contractors and visitors to the workplace. We also believe the management of risk honours this commitment and it has become one of our distinguishing factors in a competitive market. We are determined to safeguard our people and the environment from incidents.
In honour of 2019 World Day for Safety and Health at Work, Wiley held toolbox talks on every site and are having Garry Beattie, their Safe Work & Compliance Manager speak to the organisation as a lunch knowledge share on Tuesday. Safety always needs to be top of mind and this was a great opportunity to spark more discussion.
Wiley Managing Director, Tom said, “We take safety very seriously at Wiley. Our business is our people and those we work with. People’s safety is our highest priority, so everyone goes home to their families at the end of the day. Having each other’s back is part of our culture.”
Safe Work Australia, has shared this video which focuses on megatrends – and the opportunities and risks they present. How they will disrupt the way we manage employment and workplace safety. This panel discussion examines how organisations can position themselves to thrive in the face of rapid and extensive change.
“Safety is always an enormous consideration with all of Wiley’s projects. We collaborate with key stakeholders, ensuring construction is coordinated to provide a safe environment for everyone on and nearby the site. Providing a safe environment around our sites is of paramount importance to Wiley.” Said Garry Beattie, Safe Work & Compliance Manager.
Wiley expects all workers within the organisation, contractors and visitors to our workplaces to follow safe work practices as prescribed under the legislation and in our policies and procedures, and that they make every effort to eliminate work related injuries and illness to themselves and others.
