Saint Stephen’s College students will soon be stepping into their new state-of-the-art two storey music centre which is now entering the finishing stages of the project, delivered by Wiley. The music centre will support the development of future gifted musicians at the College.
Wiley Business Operations Director, Simon Spittle said “I am really looking forward to seeing this music centre when it is complete. With all structural foundations in place, it’s easy to see how impressive the final product will be. Even now, the acoustical elements are evident as you walk around the facility. Burling Brown’s concepts are coming to life and we have enjoyed working with local subcontractors on the project. This facility is a great investment into the future of the community and will enable talented musicians to continue their development while at College.”
The two storey acoustically-rated facility boasts 1600m² gross floor area and will be fitted with high-end AV equipment. The ground floor contains instrument studio rooms and a 200+ tiered seating area for the main performance stage. The first floor contains Practice Studio’s, General Learning Areas and a Music Practice Hall.
Vital to the success of this project is Wiley’s substantial experience in the education sector, including Catholic, Anglican and State Schools, TAFEs and Universities. Decades of delivering in live and challenging operational environments means that Wiley is well suited to delivering in school environments, where the safety of students and staff is of paramount importance to the school.
Construction began in November 2017 and is expected to be complete in October 2018.
